LEADERSHIP
James M. Wade, Jr.
Founder and Principal Consultant
With a distinguished career in legal administration, paralegal services, legislative affairs, and consulting for faith-based organizations, James brings a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to excellence to Ethos Administrative Solutions. His leadership spans legal and government sectors, as well as strategic consulting for churches and non-profits, helping them build strong organizational structures, navigate complex issues, and manage crises with confidentiality and integrity.
PROFESSIONAL & EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
James began his legal career in 2014, building a strong foundation in personal injury, education, litigation, social security administration, and academic appeals. He has successfully managed legal cases, settlements, and clients in a variety of complex business matters. In 2021, James transitioned to state government, where he served as Chief of Staff for Delegate Joshua G. Cole and Delegate Candi Mundon King. In this capacity, James played a pivotal role in legislative affairs, overseeing bill strategy, managing legislative operations, and coordinating advocacy efforts to advance key legislative initiatives.
Under James’s leadership as Chief of Staff, notable legislation such as HB 2082 (Virginia Residential Landlord and Tenant Act; employees of the landlord, rental dwelling unit keys), also known as Miya's Law, was successfully passed. Miya’s Law was inspired by the tragic death of Miya Marcano in Florida, who went missing on September 24, 2021, after a maintenance worker let himself into her apartment using a master key. The law aims to enhance tenant protections and prevent such tragedies from happening again. James was proud to act on behalf of the Marcano family to help strengthen tenant safety in Virginia.
In addition to his legislative work, James has demonstrated strong leadership in consulting with religious institutions, guiding them through complex challenges, and helping them build and strengthen their organizational structures. He has consulted with churches and other faith-based entities, offering strategic advice to navigate administrative and business-related issues, including business structure, crisis management, and organizational development. His expertise includes assisting with everything from building leadership teams to developing operational departments, ensuring that these organizations are well-positioned for growth and long-term success.
James also specializes in helping religious organizations navigate the complex process of becoming historical landmarks, offering guidance on the necessary paperwork, local and state regulations, and community outreach needed to preserve their legacy. His knowledge of the legal, procedural, and cultural aspects has been invaluable to faith-based organizations seeking to protect their heritage while continuing to serve their communities.
Furthermore, James brings extensive experience in establishing and organizing music ministries within churches. He helps faith-based organizations lay a solid foundation for their music ministries by developing leadership structures, creating clear roles and responsibilities, and aligning the music ministry’s mission with the broader vision of the church. His approach not only strengthens the music ministry as a key pillar of worship but also ensures it is an efficient and well-structured department that supports the church’s spiritual goals. Through his guidance, churches are able to create sustainable music programs that nurture talent, foster community engagement, and encourage spiritual growth.
His experience also extends to leading policy discussions, collaborating with government entities, and managing the operational needs of legislative offices. James has supported small businesses and non-profits by drafting contracts, handling power of attorney (POA) and wills, and providing essential administrative guidance. His holistic approach to problem-solving has made him a trusted advisor to religious institutions, faith-based organizations, and business leaders alike.

James holds a Paralegal Certificate from North Carolina State University and, after completing his associate’s degree in philosophy and politics, is furthering his education by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Law and Policy with a concentration in Public Policy. In addition, James is also training to become a certified mediator, expanding his capacity to resolve disputes outside the courtroom. A graduate of the SAGE program (class of 2022), James also serves on the inaugural SAIL Chief of Staff, Branch Leadership and Staff Leadership Task Force, where he continues to demonstrate his leadership and expertise in both government and legal environments.
